"I WEIGHED 570 POUNDS. . .
SO I TRAVELED 2200 MILES IN SEARCH OF BETTER HEALTH. . . . ."

August 2006 Summary

God is so faithful. I have seen that this time in Arkansas is a time of reflection and searching inside of myself. It is a time to truly see who God has created me to be and what my true purpose is in life. I have had time to come to grips with tough issues, let go of past hurts and let God heal old wounds. I am realizing that it is time to let go of sad memories of those loved ones who have gone on to be with the Lord. It is time for me to step out into my destiny.

My passion is to reach out and touch people. To help others dealing with weight issues and have compassion to help them to achieve their goals. I am thankful for every negative and positive circumstance that has happened in my life because it has allowed me to be the woman that I am today. I WILL SUCCEED at this weight loss challenge. I WILL continue to conquer food addiction. I WILL be ALL that God has purposed for me to be and you will too if you just let God take control and lead you where He wants you to go.

While in Arkansas I have had the opportunity to meet more wonderful, loving people. I have had the opportunity to minister in music at some churches. I love to sing and any opportunity that I have to do it and share God through song is a blessing.

I met a wonderful woman in Ola, Arkansas. I told her that I KNOW God put her and her gym right there in Ola, AR JUST for me. (I’m kidding) We immediately had a God connection. I was able to go to the gym and work out which helped me to continue on with my weight loss journey. It was so much fun because she actually worked out everyday with me which made it a much more enjoyable experience. Debbie is a woman I will always treasure. She is also on a journey to health and I know she WILL succeed!! I know God will continue to bless her as she is a tremendous blessing to others. If you live anywhere near Ola, Arkansas, go to the Ola Fitness Center. You won’t regret stopping by.

On Monday, August 21, 2006 I left Danville, AR and headed down the road toward home. I KNEW it was time to return to “my world” in California. I drove 1500 miles in two days. I left Arkansas on Monday morning and I was home in California by 5:00 p.m Tuesday evening. Again, God was faithful in keeping me on the right path. I DID NOT have any fast food or junk food while I was on the road traveling. PRAISE GOD!!!

August 30th was the 2 year anniversary of my mother’s passing. I was concerned if I would make it through this day without falling off the wagon. Again, I was pleased to see the healing and progress made in my emotional stability. In a time of trauma and sadness, I DID NOT turn to food for comfort. Each day that passes I can see that changes are happening and becoming a way of life. I am truly learning to “eat to live” and NOT “live to eat”. Food is no longer in control of me, I AM in control of it. It can be done. I know I have NOT arrived because life it not a destination it is a journey. Come with me, we can do this together. :-)
